The Black Rock Desert Playa is 20-30 miles wide and over one hundred miles long with absolutely nothing but flat surface. This photo and the others that follow in this sequence were scanned from a wonderful photo book called "Black Rock, Portraits on the Playa" by Douglas Keister.
